W7MOT DStar Status 11/24/2014
On Sunday November 23rd 2014 a workparty visited the White Tanks site to perform additional maintenance to the DStar System.
The System is operational. We are considering all problems reported as being cleared at this time. If you encounter a problem, please report it to one of the system admins listed on our website http://www.w7mot.org/index.php/about-us/contact-us/w7mot-dstar-administrator .
Here's what was done.
The primary problem being addressed was poor transmit and reception of the VHF C and UHF B repeaters.
Earlier the antenna was found bad and replaced but did not appear to clear all the problems.
Most suspected problem was unshielded network cables on the private repeater network lan. These were changed out with shielded cat 5e cables.
The Antenna and Transmission line were tested with excellent results.
VHF C and UHF B repeater sensitivity and output were checked and found good.
The Gateway server was rebooted with no errors. A few network tweaks were made.
The public and private lans were checked and all devices are communicating without errors.
Test calls were made with good signal reports.
