What is Field Day?
We all talk about Field Day like everyone knows what that means. Is this really true? Something to stop and ponder.
From a MARCA club perspective, over30 plus years we, "members", have made Field Day a yearly event. Perfected the process of setup and operations. Some years we have made the bragging points.
So when a new ham, or old, finds out about Field Day, it is sometimes difficult to answer. It a contest. Its about all kinds of operational modes. And as we all know, its different when done as an individual or as a Group or Club. Hard to explain to an amateur trying it for the first time.
Erik Basilier, K7TV, has read many articles about Field Day. He has broken all that information down into 7 Chapters so to speak. Each Chapter describes a simple explanation. For old Hams this may sound too simple, but for new hams, it condenses all the activity into easy-to-understand areas.
