Follow-up on Quartzfest 21st to 28th January 2012
Well this is a Hamfest that's now in the books. If you didn't go, you should have given it a bit more consideration. This is one I recommend you put it on your calendar for 2013. This all happens the same week as the Biggest RV Show on Earth ..... and should not be confused as part of the RV Show. Quartzfest stands on it's own.
This year there were about 500 RV'er checked into Quartzfest. They all sort of gather in the same BLM area. Circle wagons sort of. Suprisingly, the entire group site was ALL hams with RVs. Day visitors just parked where they can. 500 RVs takes a bit of space.
Quartzfest is a FREE event to attend and it's FREE BLM camping ...... and door prize tickets are FREE, don't have to be there to win ..... and it's all FREE.

Membership Dues for 2012
Notice 2012 Software Order
A reminder that MARCA 2012 dues should be sent to our Secretary Don Aldridge, WA7RLL. His contact infomation can be found under >>Contact Us >> MARCA Officers.
Why Register "quickly"? It's software time and the order will need to be sent to Norm Johnson, AA7OO by February 20th with payments no later than February 20th (the next membership meeting). Reminder, only members in good standing can place orders. The group licenses are issued to MARCA and you must be a member for "use".
When you have completed registration with Don, Please go to the website and update your "Profile" information and insure your email address is correct. Software orders will be coordinated through the website's member email group list. Notices and instructions will also ONLY be visiable to Registered members.
Dues should only take a few minutes of emails and posting a check to Don.
Registering on the Website is also just a few minutes of your time.
Let's get to it and get on to this years club business and activities.

Fox Hunt February 4th 2012 - Update

We've picked a starting spot, and a talk in repeater, so we are all set for the hunt this weekend. It's a bit far for us in the south east, but I hope some people can give it a try. Please let me know if you have questions, or would like to borrow some equipment.

I spoke to a few people after the last meeting about Fox Hunts (aka T-Hunting, Hidden Transmitter Hunting, Amateur Radio Direction Finding). I was planning to give a talk at a future meeting, but it turns out there will be a hunt before the next meeting, so I wanted to notify and invite everyone.

Meeting location: Denny's, 4403 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, Az 85282
This is the South East corner of US60 and Rural Rd.
Meetings start at 6:30 pm and are typically 2 hours duration.
Come early, socialize, and have a bite to eat.
